What Is the Arizona Food Bank?

Not knowing where your next meal will come from can be a stressful and frightening situation. Unfortunately, as many as 9% of people in Arizona face this challenge regularly. With ongoing economic struggles and significant food cost inflation over the past few years, this issue continues to worsen. Fortunately, the Arizona Food Bank is an organization dedicated to providing access to the food people need. This is why PlumbSmart is proud to offer its support.

The Arizona Food Bank is a coalition of five regional food banks and charitable organizations across the state. It partners with over 1,000 food pantries and smaller food banks to support food-insecure individuals throughout Arizona. Collectively, the organization distributes up to 54 million pounds of food annually, helping to meet the needs of those they serve.

Who They Serve

The Arizona Food Bank is committed to ensuring everyone in the state has access to nutritious meals. The organization tailors its efforts to different groups to provide targeted support:

Children - The Food Bank collaborates with school districts, community organizations, and care centers to ensure children receive three meals a day, seven days a week.

Seniors - Arizona’s growing senior population faces unique challenges accessing food. The Food Bank partners with local senior centers, community organizations, and government agencies to raise awareness and provide resources, ensuring seniors have access to the nutrition they need.
